Making Sacred - The Becoming of Gullveig

Come share the virtual hearth fire with me and hear my own telling of the Becoming of Gullveig extrapolated from the famous Voluspa and interpretations of Gullvieg, who she is and what happened to her, offered by researcher Arith Herger. 

This is a tale of fire, a tale of transformation from one state of being to another,  a tale of the alchemical from a stone giantess to a wondering seer. 

Gullvieg features in a single short stanza in the Voluspa, but that single stanza has proved rich fruit for the exploartions of scholars and the imagination of artists.

Who is Gullveig?

She comes to the hall of the Aesir gods, is stabbed by the spear of Odin named Gungnir. She heals this wound and then is burnt three times and survives to become a seer. But what is her story, what is her perspective on what occurred? I will share…
