Bone Song
Exploring creativity as a soul retrieving act.
…is inspired by the story of La Loba, an old wolf-woman who gathers bones in the Mexican desert. When she has a full skeleton, she builds a fire and sings. When she finds the song that vibrates the bones in just the right way, flesh returns, then skin, then fur, then breath—and the creature bounds away.
To find our Bone Song is to find the expression that sings us back together.
This was the first story that enchanted me, but that was just the beginning.
I seek out, live alongside, and tell stories because they hold doorways, keys, mirrors, and maps. Their worlds are filled with characters who imitate us, oppose us, trick us, inspire us, and point the way—speaking in a symbolic language that slips beneath the reasoning mind and touches something deeper.
Stories weave our troubles and triumphs into enchanted worlds of talking animals and triple wishes; places where hands can grow back, dolls can guide us, and rivers can be crossed on sheets pulled tight by older women.
Bone Song expressive writing workshops invite you to deepen your personal relationship with a story—to do as La Loba does and gather bones.
When we write freely, we “...overhear ourselves saying things we didn’t know we knew.” (David Whyte). There is a wise doll in each of us, waiting to be heard.
All Bone Song offerings are rooted in the belief that enchantment and creativity make space for healing—through truth-speaking and soul-led expression.
